Switzerland and Austria Private Tours:

Alpine Adventure Trails Tours, Inc. offers private tours to the following Swiss villages: Zermatt/Furi, Saas-Fee, Bettmeralp, Sils-Maria, Zuoz, Kandersteg, Muerren, Wengen, Zuoz, Grindelwald and the towns of Zurich and Luzern. For an Austrian private tour we offer the village of Mayrhofen and the Hamlet of Ginzling.

Isle of Skye Scotland Private Tours:

An apt description of the Isle of Skye: beautiful tundra, green slopes, and the most rugged and enchanting mountains in Scotland. Serene is another – especially at the apex of Marsco, Brauch Na Frithe or another of the many Munroes. (Munroes are Scottish peaks in excess of 3,000 feet.)

The 360-degree views are magnificent. Clouds cast shadows as intricately shaped as the fjords below them. Skye is renowned in the mountaineering community - a fact easy to understand when surrounded by the Black Coullins and the Red Coullins, the stunning, beautifully rugged mountains that rise from the sea with almost mythical qualities.

Located at approximately the same latitude as Juneau, Alaska, the similarities of the two worlds are evident; rugged unspoiled beauty with alluring peaks. You can hike all day and not see another soul. Revel in pristine isolation and remoteness as you hike from valley to summit: appreciate the comforts of your new home for the week, including gourmet meals served on antique family china. Our host is Mr. Hugh MacDonald at his family estate - the most unique and charming inn on the island. Mr. MacDonald’s great uncles were indigo merchants in India and the family assembled an incredible collection of art and artifacts - but it might be better to gather around the fire in the drawing room and let Hugh tell you about it after dinner.

A single hike will be offered each day. One guide will take the lead and one guide will sweep for those who would like to take pictures (or a more leisurely pace). The trails will be moderate to moderately strenuous.

Who would enjoy this trip? Someone who loves to hike and is comfortable with a little rougher terrain than standard groomed trails. Someone who loves history and culture and appreciates the saga of the people who have inhabited Skye for over 10,000 years. One or the other is enough, but if you enjoy both, this would make a great and memorable vacation.

The minimum group size for a private trip to the Isle of Skye is ten. Kaui, Hawaii Private Tours:

Hanalei bay on the north shore of Kauai is our base village for this unique trip. The itinerary is up to you, choose from: hiking, biking, kayaking, or snorkeling; or for a more adventuresome activity surf lessons. Also available is a relaxing “tube” float down old irrigation canals left over from Kauai’s sugar cane farming days. Activities for this trip will be custom designed for you. Each day a choice of activities will be made available. For dinner enjoy your own private dinner party each evening with delicious meals prepared at your house.

The group size for this private tour may range from 8 to 14 guests. Dates for the trip are flexible but must be chosen well in advance to reserve the private house where you will stay for the trip. Hanalei bay is a unique laid back place with no hotels and no condominiums this is why you will be in a private house. This personalized private tour is very informal. Each day you will have a choice of activities one of which is to simply relax on the beach and marvel at the surreal beauty of this garden island.
