Tour Description:

Take in the Matterhorn and postcard-worthy village at its base, nestled in the Pennine Alps, as well as the famous Jungfrau region in the Bernese Oberland—You’ll go from warm valleys flush with spectacular wildflowers to cool glacier-coated mountaintops that boast awe-inspiring vistas. And from the base village of Muerren, you’ll have a perfect vantage point to take in the 72 waterfalls of the spectacular Lauterbrunnen Valley.

Tour Cost Includes: Accommodations in 3 star superior and 4 star superior hotels (Links listed on the right), Breakfast and Dinner, Swiss Pass (pass details) - covers trains, buses, streetcars, trams and boats plus entrance into museums.  Two hiking options daily moderate and strenuous with options to do shorter versions of hikes.  This is a fabulous trip to see the Matterhorn, Monte Rosa and The Jungfrau area.

  • August 26: meet guides in Zürich by 10 a.m. and travel by train to Zermatt
  • August 27 & 28: day-hike mountains above Zermatt
  • August 29: free-day to explore on your own
    August 30 & 31: day-hike mountains above Zermatt
    September 1: travel by train to Muerren with a boat cruise on Lake Thun
  • September 2, 3, 4, & 5: day-hike the Jungfrau region
  • September 6: travel by train to Zürich arriving by 10:30 a.m. or earlier if needed for return flight
