TOUR 8: Sils Maria and Saas Fee Tour

«        »

Tour Description:

Called the Pearl of the Alps, Saas-Fee boasts an Alpine Flower Trail, which holds more than 240 plant species, rare wildflowers, and thousand-year-old larch trees. The ibex is commonly seen in this area as well. Here, you’ll also discover high alpine trails where Swiss and Italian cultural blending has taken place over centuries.

Sils Maria located between Maloja and St. Moritz in the Upper Engine Valley is perfectly situated for hiking the Bernina Range.  It is located on Lake Sils, a beautiful lake at 6000 feet.  It's nice to take a stroll in the evening by it.  The village has about 700 citizens very small and peaceful.  It is also located at the head of Val Fex (Valley Fex) where we do an amazing loop hike where you can see all up and down the Upper Engine Valley.  There are four big lakes in the valley, St. Moritz, Silvaplana, Champferer and Sils.

Tour Cost:

$4,800; single supplement: $250

It is considered to be part of the Rhaetian Alps within the Central Eastern Alps. It is one of the highest ranges of the Alps, covered with many glaciers. Piz Bernina(4,049 m (13,284 ft)), its highest peak, is the most easterly four thousand-metre peak in the Alps. The peak in the range which sees the most ascents is Piz Palü.
