Towering above this maze of Kandersteg’s hiking trails are glaciers that lead to four spectacular summits, the Doldenhorn, Frudenhorn, Oeschinenhorn, and Bluëmilsalphorn.

Of particular interest are two glacial bodies of water, romantic Lake Oeschinen and Blausee, a clear, deep lake holding trout and ancient fossilized trees. Kandersteg is a 30-minute train ride from picturesque lake Thun and not far from the historically significant Lötschen Pass, the Gemmi Pass, and the stunning Gastern Valley.
