San Candido and Cortina, Italy – Hiking Tours

Discover the Magic of the Dolomites –

Set out on a hiking adventure through the stunning Dolomites with time in both San Candido and Cortina d’Ampezzo. These two destinations showcase very different sides of the mountains: the peaceful alpine valleys of South Tyrol and the dramatic limestone cliffs that tower above Cortina. Together, they create a hiking journey filled with panoramic views, historic charm, and a taste of authentic mountain life. From gentle valley paths to rugged high-altitude trails, this tour is designed to deliver unforgettable scenery and rewarding experiences for every level of hiker.

San Candido, Italy

San Candido (Innichen) lies at the northern edge of the Dolomites and is famous for its charming town center, cultural blend of Italian and Tyrolean heritage, and access to some of the region’s most iconic landscapes. The village sits near the entrance to the Three Peaks Nature Park, where hikes reveal striking rock spires, lush valleys, and clear alpine streams. Trails range from leisurely walks along the Drava River to more demanding climbs leading toward panoramic ridges. The route into Val Fiscalina is especially popular, known for its peaceful forests and dramatic views of the surrounding peaks. For those seeking multi-day challenges, San Candido connects directly to the Alta Via 4, a classic high-route across the Dolomites. Its balance of accessibility, natural beauty, and authentic alpine character makes San Candido an ideal starting point.

Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy

Cortina d’Ampezzo, often called the “Queen of the Dolomites,” is set in a broad alpine valley surrounded by some of the range’s most photographed peaks. This lively town is not only a hub for outdoor adventure but also a destination rich in history, culture, and Italian flair. Hiking here opens the door to countless highlights: the turquoise waters of Lago di Sorapis, the rugged spires of Cinque Torri, and sweeping ridgelines around the Tofane and Cristallo groups. Cortina is also a gateway to renowned hut-to-hut treks, where hikers can spend nights in cozy mountain rifugi and wake to sunrise over the Dolomite peaks. With trails that suit both casual walkers and serious trekkers, Cortina offers the perfect blend of natural grandeur and mountain-town vibrancy.

All trips have two or three guides with a maximum group size of 12. Three levels of hiking are offered each day.
