Aiguilles des Grands Montets, Mer de Glace, and of course Mont Blanc (4808 meters (15,777 feet) the highest peak in the Alps are a must see when visiting the French Alps.  The entire Chamonix area is a highlight with 350km (217) miles of hiking trails it is a hiker’s paradise.

Situated near the massive peaks of the Aiguilles Rouges and most notably the Aiguille du Midi, Chamonix is one of the oldest mountain recreation resorts in France.  There are hiking trails for all levels of hiking.  The town itself is a lot of fun with nice shops and restaurants and a happy vibe of hikers and mountain enthusiasts.

Perched at 3842  meters (11,420), the Aiquille du Midi is the highest lift-accessed mountain in the world offering breath-taking views of some of the highest peaks in the Alps. From the viewing platforms, you’ll enjoy unrivaled views of Mont Blanc; on a clear day, you’ll even see the Matterhorn in Switzerland.  The hiking and sightseeing around Chamonix is some of the best in the Alps. It never disappoints.
